7. Deciding Your Site Map

Literally map out your site. Make a blueprint on paper or use one of the many online tools to create an outline of what your site should look like.

Here's what you'll discover:

  • The fewer pages the better. This allows you to remain in control and your audience has a better chance of seeing everything.
  • Choose four or five main title pages and consolidate everything else within those pages.
  • If you're creating a portfolio page, have one page for you work and highlight just a few of your best projects.

How many pages do you currently have?
