3. My Rules for Twitter

Summary:

Every tweet falls into one of the four categories I created. There's a WL - website link, QQ - quick question, IB - industry buzz, and last but not least NE - networking effort.

Here's what you'll discover:

  • WL - A website link is anything about you. Any blog, podcast, article, or content that is yours or you were a part of.

  • QQ - A quick question engages with the audience. You want them to answer you so they feel more connected. It can be on brand but it doesn't have to be. Something simple like "Coffee or Tea?" or "How about wine or beer?"

  • IB - An industry buzz tweet is great to remind your audience that you are an expert in your field. These tend to come from client conversation. Maybe it's some advice you gave them. Always pay attention to what you're saying.

  • NE - A networking effort tweet is just that - networking. To start just tweet someone you don't know and give them a compliment. Maybe an article they wrote or project they worked on. People tend to pay more attention and respond if you're throwing compliments at them.

Question:

What are the results? Start using these tweet types and come back to tell me your results.
