8. How To Give A Designer Feedback

Let's talk about how to give a designer feedback, assuming you're working with someone to create the visuals for your brand. It's really important how you give them feedback, because most designers will charge for a set number of revisions.

Here's what you'll discover:

  • From experience, you really shouldn't need more than two revisions for a project, or something's broken in the communication.
  • Be specific. Instead of saying I want it to feel more feminine, say I want rounder curves or I want a lighter line weight.
  • After you've taken time to carefully articulate your feedback, make sure you read your email over, once, possibly twice. If I don't articulate it properly the first time, it's going to use up a revision; and I'm going to have to pay for it. So be clear from the start.
